顛覆古典交響純粹性的白遼士，將交響曲當作坎坷情路的自白書，戲劇性的創作讓他一舉成名為前衛的作曲家，《幻想》也成為法國交響中的第一。十九世紀下半最被稱道的管弦樂配樂/「配色」大師除了白遼士，就是拉威爾，相對於白遼士的顛覆性格，趨近「新古典風格」的拉威爾則顯平易近人。深受莫札特與聖桑影響的鋼琴協奏曲他自己戲稱之『華麗的嬉遊曲』；而在他與蓋希文的影響下，桑肯的鋼琴協奏曲載滿了世紀交替之後，二十世紀法國印象樂派與美國爵士樂的現代「混搭」作曲技法與風格。
近年在歐洲迅速竄起、深受指揮大師庫特．馬索提攜的法國年輕明星指揮蓋柏，將與聲勢如日中天、深受台灣樂迷喜愛的法國鋼琴家巴佛傑攜手獻上法蘭西音樂的三種風情。

Hector Berlioz, the markedly innovative composer who pushed through the limits of classical music and revealed with his dramatic, top-ranked Symphonie Fantasique the difficulties and trials in his pursuit of love; Maurice Ravel, another acclaimed orchestration maestro who displays a more affable,“neo-classical”style in his Piano Concerto in G major, which he jokingly nicknamed the“divertissement de luxe;”and Pierre Sancan, who filled his Piano Concerto with modern fusion of 20th century French Impressionism and American Jazz music──three completely different styles of French music presented to you by the quickly-rising young star, French conductor Fabien Gabel, and the enormously popular and beloved French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.
